No matter which version of the Bible you read, THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR.
Galatians 1:6-9 (King James Version) 6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:6-9 (New Living Translation)6 I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. [ a ] You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News 7 but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. 8 Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. 9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.Galatians 1:6-9 (The Message)6-9 I can't believe your fickleness—how easily you have turned traitor to him who called you by the grace of Christ by embracing a variant message! It is not a minor variation, you know; it is completely other, an alien message, a no-message, a lie about God. Those who are provoking this agitation among you are turning the Message of Christ on its head. Let me be blunt: If one of us—even if an angel from heaven!—were to preach something other than what we preached originally, let him be cursed. I said it once; I'll say it again: If anyone, regardless of reputation or credentials, preaches something other than what you received originally, let him be cursed.
Galatians 1:6-9 (English Standard Version)6 I am astonished that you are (
A ) so quickly deserting (
B ) him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to (
C ) a different gospel—
7 (
D ) not that there is another one, but (
E ) there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or (
F ) an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, (
G ) let him be accursed.
9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, (
H ) let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:6-9 (GOD’S WORD Translation)6 I’m surprised that you’re so quickly deserting Christ, who called you in his kindness, [
a ] to follow a different kind of good news.
7 But what some people are calling good news is not really good news at all. They are confusing you. They want to distort the Good News about Christ.
8 Whoever tells you good news that is different from the Good News we gave you should be condemned to hell, even if he is one of us or an angel from heaven.
9 I’m now telling you again what we’ve told you in the past: If anyone tells you good news that is different from the Good News you received, that person should be condemned to hell.
Galatians 1:6-9 (New International Reader's Version)6 I am amazed. You are so quickly deserting the One who chose you because of the grace that Christ has provided. You are turning to a different "good news."
7 What you are accepting is really not the good news at all. It seems that some people have gotten you all mixed up. They are trying to twist the good news about Christ.
8 But suppose even we should preach a different "good news." Suppose even an angel from heaven should preach it. I'm talking about a different one than the good news we gave you. Let anyone who does that be judged by God forever.
9 I have already said it. Now I will say it again. Anyone who preaches a "good news" that is different from the one you accepted should be judged by God forever.
Galatians 1:6-9 (Worldwide English New Testament)6 I am very much surprised. It is so soon, and you are leaving God who called you by the love of Christ. Instead you are listening to another good news.
7 There is really no other good news. But some people are making you think wrong things. They want to change the good news of Christ.
8 We are wrong if we tell you a different kind of good news. Even an angel from heaven is wrong to tell you something different. Let a punishment from God come upon us if we tell you a different kind of good news.
9 We have said it before, and I say it again now. A curse be on any one who tells you a kind of good news which is not the good news we have already told you.
